Daniel Burke was born in Northeast Ohio on October 23rd, 1985 to parents Mark and Carolyn Burke. He grew up in Chardon Ohio and attended Chardon High school before joining the Army on May 4th, 2004.

Daniel is a veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and a graduate of the Army’s Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Battle Staff Course, Master Fitness Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Ranger School, and Master Gunner School.

Daniel’s wife Nicole is a practicing Social Worker with a graduate degree from the University of Southern California. They have been married for ten years and have two children ages 9 and 7. Daniel is currently completing the yearlong U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss Texas after being selected for promotion in 2019. He also studies Organizational Leadership at the Pennsylvania State University and is a member of the Pi Delta Chi chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society, and Phi Kappa Phi. Daniel is scheduled to graduate in 2021 and plans to attend George Washington University for a graduate degree in legislative affairs thereafter.

Gloriann is a junior at Worcester State University and a proud member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society. She currently works full-time as a Paraprofessional Kindergarten Aide, part-time as a Coordinator of a high school after school music lesson program, and as a volunteer CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children who are in the custody of the Department of Children and Families in Worcester County.

Mrs. Switzer expects to earn her bachelor’s degree in 2021. With the expertise and guidance at Worcester State, she was able to create her own major in Liberal Studies in Child Advocacy. She will graduate with two minors – one in Sociology, which she has already completed, and the second created as interdisciplinary minor blending sociology, psychology, criminal justice, education, urban studies, and the creative arts. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my spouse, children, and family, close friends, and coworkers for their constant support and words of encouragement.”
