On the evening of April 1 of this year the Eta Chi Chapter inducted its newest members into the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. It was with great joy that we were able to host our induction in person with a full celebration. The event was held in Muhlenberg’s Great Room in our Seegers Union. As international flags hung from the beams of the vaulted ceiling and the sun reflected through the large windows, our newest members came forward to receive their certificates and formally be inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.

Chapter Councilor, Jane Hudak, opened this festive occasion with the support of honorary ASL members, Associate Dean Gregg Scully and Director of Advising and Academic Success, Lisa Lewis, along with Associate Dean, Michael Miller. A.J. Lemheney, Ed.D., Vice President and Executive Director of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education, addressed the group and shared the sometimes overwhelming obstacles adult learners must overcome in their quest for furthering their education and potential. This year’s honorary inductee, Nancy Miller, M.Ed., Adjunct Professor of Leadership and Communication, Accelerated Program, was acknowledged for her contribution to her many students. This is best illustrated in a quote submitted by one of them for her nomination.
“Nancy has been a great professor and mentor. She has helped me become a more observant and professional leader by providing crucial feedback after presentations. She was also always available and generous of her time. A true example of a leader.”
Additional honoree Michael B. Miller, Ed.D., Associate Dean and Director of Accelerated Programs, Muhlenberg College School of Continuing Studies will become our new chapter councilor after the retirement this year of our very dedicated and beloved Jane Hudak. It is with great pride that we welcome our seven new members and wish them all the best in their exciting futures!
