Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society is proud to announce that for the 2026-2027 academic year, it granted a total of $62,000 in scholarships to twenty-five exceptional adult learners across the nation. This included six (6) $3,000 scholarships, fourteen (14) $2,500 scholarships, four (4) $2,000 scholarships, and, for the first time ever, one (1) $1,500 Master’s Scholarship. Congratulations to all this year’s honored scholars for their perseverance and dedication!
As the leading nationally recognized honor society dedicated to adult learners, Alpha Sigma Lambda aims to honor outstanding students each year who meet the following standards:
- Have attended an institution with an active Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter
- Have completed at least 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) of graded coursework at that institution (excluding transfer credits, assessments, CLEP credits, and courses currently in progress)
- Have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale for all coursework taken at the institution
- Are enrolled in either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program at that institution
- Demonstrate a financial need that supports their pursuit of degree completion
Selection of applicants is based on academic achievement, leadership qualities, the clarity and substance of their personal statement, strong recommendations, and financial need.

Introducing the Master’s Scholarship
This year, Alpha Sigma Lambda also proudly launched a new recognition: the Master’s Scholarship. This award honors students in master’s degree programs who have attained Honor status by completing or exceeding the number of graduate credits required for full-time status, as defined by their institution, within a single term.
Alpha Sigma Lambda awarded its first-ever Master’s Scholarship, a $1,500 award, to Sumnima Limbu of Park University. Congratulations, Sumnima!

Every purchase from our online shop and every gift to our donation fund directly supports adult learners like Sumnima and this year’s undergraduate scholars.
A Legacy of Support
Since its inception, the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society has committed over $796,400 in scholarship funds to 411 students nationwide, empowering adult learners to advance their educational goals.
