As part of our ongoing series to highlight the impactful work conducted by our dedicated councilors, this month, we are excited to turn our spotlight on Stephanie Ganser, who serves as the Chapter Councilor for the ASLHS chapter at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
Stephanie became the Chapter Councilor in 2021, shortly after VCU joined the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Society. In her role, she has had the privilege of working closely with adult learners who are passionately pursuing their degrees while balancing various responsibilities. Stephanie views this opportunity as a true privilege, recognizing that her students are not just learners; they are caregivers, partners, veterans, and individuals striving to better their lives through education.
With nearly 200 students inducted during her tenure, Stephanie has witnessed firsthand the incredible dedication and resilience of these adult learners. Each inductee represents a unique story filled with challenges and triumphs, embodying the spirit of commitment that ASLHS celebrates. Stephanie emphasizes how ASL has opened doors for these students, providing them with access to scholarships and recognition for their hard work both in and outside the classroom.
In short, Stephanie Ganser exemplifies the values of leadership and advocacy within the Alpha Sigma Lambda community. Her commitment to highlighting and supporting adult learners at VCU is a testament to her passion for education and service.
Stay tuned each month as we continue to spotlight the leaders within our community and reflect on the essential role they play in shaping the future of Alpha Sigma Lambda!
