Erin Gallagher: 2025-2026 ASLHS Scholarship Award Recipient

Join us as we celebrate and highlight our 2025-2026 scholarship recipients, continuing with this week’s feature on Erin Gallagher from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Erin’s story is a powerful example of balancing personal growth, professional responsibility, and family life. As a sophomore majoring in Psychology, she has a clear vision to pursue graduate studies in Forensic Psychology, with a focus on maternal mental health and its impact on criminal behavior. Erin is passionate about improving outcomes for mothers experiencing postpartum mental health crises by bridging the gap between mental health care and the criminal justice system—a cause rooted in compassion and community betterment.

Alongside her academic pursuits, Erin works full-time as a Group Administrator at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and part-time at Cornerstone Montgomery, a nonprofit dedicated to community mental health. Outside of her busy schedule, she is a proud mother to a two-year-old daughter. Her commitment to lifelong learning and her dedication to building community exemplify her heart for service and her desire to foster access to vital mental health resources.

Erin has been a proud member of Alpha Sigma Lambda and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars since 2025, regularly volunteering to help connect under served populations with essential social and behavioral health services. Her story reflects resilience, purpose, and a deep commitment to creating positive change.
