Shanda’s story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams. A wife and mother of three, Shanda is a first-generation college student who made the courageous decision to return to school in her late 30s with a goal of becoming a special education teacher. After years of balancing family responsibilities, work, and late-night study sessions, she is now just months away from student teaching.

Shanda’s dedication to her community and her students is truly inspiring. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in educational technology, aiming to support students with diverse learning needs and to help all students harness technology in meaningful and responsible ways. Her journey reflects resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to making a difference through education.
