Continuing our series to highlight 2025-2026 scholarship recipients, this week our spotlight shines on Summer Zamora at Jacksonville State University.

As a non-traditional student and mother of two, she has balanced the demands of family life while pursuing her degree in marine ecology. Her commitment to research and understanding our planet’s oceans demonstrates her deep dedication to making a positive impact on the environment.

Receiving the Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship is an incredible honor for Summer, as she says in her own words,

“I’m incredibly grateful for this support in my last semester as I complete my degree, and I look forward to upholding the values and ideals of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.”
