Today, we’re proud to highlight Toni Mascione – a recipient of the 2023-2024 Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship Award!
Toni Mascione is a native Houstonian and grew up in the Southwest Area of Houston, Texas. She is also a proud newlywed to her wife, Jaclyn Mascione. Toni began her career in her Law Enforcement career 15 years ago when she attended the police academy. Toni graduated top of her academy class as vice president and was the number one choice on the patrol board, also being the ONLY female chosen.
Toni received several commendations for her service, to include being awarded “Valor” after responding to a call of a vehicle that drove into a lake. She was later chosen to serve as a Field Training Officer within the Patrol Division, where she attributes her first understanding of the passion she has to mentor and lead others. Toni has held positions as a S.W.A.T Operator, Crime Prevention Specialist, Rape Aggression Defense Coordinator, and Public Information Officer. In 2022 Toni and was promoted to the Rank of Sergeant where she is the Director of the Public Affairs Division of the Harris County Precinct One Constables Office.
Toni serves as the LGBTQ+ Liaison for the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office where she is responsible for authoring and implementing the LGBTQIA+ policy for the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office, as well as, progressing the agencies involvement and inclusion with the communities we serve.
Toni’s decision to attend Villanova University was to bring honor to her late fathers life, who was an alumni of Villanova, but also because of her dedication to public service and passion for democracy. Toni is a double major and is currently pursing her Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies in Public Administration and Leadership, with a minor in Organizational Development and Management. Toni has received the honor of Deans List every semester and was most recently inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Mu Chapter at Villanova University.
Toni hopes to utilize her degree to help progress public administration and create systems that improve the effectiveness of public servants. After graduation Toni plans to attend Law School.
