Changing the Outcome of An Adult Learner’s Educational Future

In addition to being recognized at the 2022 ACHE Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana for our 75th anniversary, two members of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society leadership team also gave a dedicated presentation on “Changing the outcome of an adult learner’s educational future.”

Led by Penny G Gaskins and Shelley Hintz, this presentation offered a fresh perspective on the experience of an adult learner.

When an adult learner is inducted into an Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society Chapter it is so much more than making the grade. For many that choose to return to school later in their adult life, this is the “aha!” moment for them. Now more than ever adult learners are heading back to school for career change or for the first time. ASLHS recognizes these students, invites them to participate in supportive communities, and provides various opportunities that can give them the courage and confidence to go forward. Being recognized for their scholastic achievements and leadership roles can be the very recognition that the student needs to give them the confidence to continue and to finish the race they have set.
