Continuing Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society’s weekly spotlight on our 2025-2026 Scholarship Recipients, we are excited to introduce you to a remarkable student in her final year of dental hygiene studies, Amber Joseph at Luzerne County Community College.
Amber’s journey is a powerful testament to dedication and purpose. She is passionately pursuing her dream of making a difference in her community through her work in public health dentistry. Her love for dentistry was ignited through hands-on experience, and she is driven by a desire to expand access to quality oral healthcare for underserved populations. With her sights set on a future career in public health, Amber aims to bring preventative education and care to those who need it most.
What makes Amber’s story even more inspiring is her role as a mother of two. She skillfully balances the demands of her academic pursuits and family life with unwavering dedication and a heartfelt commitment to her goals. Her resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to all, demonstrating that with perseverance, it is possible to pursue higher education while nurturing a family.
The Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society is proud to support remarkable students like Amber through our scholarship program. For the 2025-2026 academic year, we awarded a total of $60,000 in scholarships to 21 distinguished adult learners nationwide. Our scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $3,000, recognize academic achievement, leadership, personal motivation, and financial need. Since our founding, we have awarded over $734,400 in scholarship funds, empowering countless adult students to achieve their educational and professional goals.
Our scholarship process is designed to honor dedicated adult learners committed to completing their degrees. Applicants must attend an institution with an active Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter, complete at least 24 semester hours with a minimum GPA of 3.2, and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on academic record, leadership qualities, personal statements, and recommendations.
