Twenty-one outstanding undergraduate students in the Metropolitan School of Professional Studies were inducted into the Iota Kappa chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda national honorary society for nontraditional-age students on March 19, recognizing their high academic achievement.
Eighteen students on our D.C. campus and two students at our Tucson instructional site were inducted in a single ceremony at both sites linked by video conferencing. Kenneth Killiany, a long-time writing instructor on the DC campus; and Keiran Roche, assistant dean in Tucson, were inducted as honorary members.
In a reflection at the ceremony, Killiany praised the students for their dedication and persistence in completing their degrees. “Applaud yourselves. You have made it,” he said. “I would like to thank all of you for what I have gotten from you in teaching.”
