Martha May – 2023-2024 ASLHS Scholarship Award Recipient

Congratulations to Martha May – a recipient of the 2023-2024 Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship Award!

In her own words, here is a little more about Martha’s journey:

“As a first-generation college and future law student, I have had the luxuries of embarking on pinnacle journeys of legality and higher education. I am an undergrad at Nichols College in my senior year and studying the pinnacles of General Business, Criminal Justice, and Psychology.

I plan to continue my education by applying to potential law schools to pursue a legal education/career. Thus far in my educational journey, I participated in advocacy events, taught at Hopkins private school, and interned with my local Judicial courthouse.

My passion for the Law pivots towards educating laypeople and strengthening the cores of justice. I have contemplated a desire to study Law. It emerged simply from my gratification in doing the right things and thoughts of helping people. But what excites me more is that I can exercise my analytical, intellectual, and practical skills to solve a problem. I came to know my passion, realizing an emotional connection, such as constitutional issues about ratifications and limitations that need to be corrected.

One will continue to indulge in the changes that need to alter through the legal capacities, besides my fueled eagerness to pursue justice. I enjoy reading a good book, traveling, and trying new things, including clothes, food, etc. But, I’m mostly enthralled with culture and taking on languages. As a newly inducted FAR Fellow, I look forward to rigorously navigating the law school process and garnering the essentials I need to be a successful law student.”

Well done Martha and we’re cheering you on!
